There are so many places to surf around the world and I have surfed many of them from the great consistent breaks at San Clemente California to the Hawaiian islands the classic and popular tourist destination Waikiki Beach. Many of my best days surfing have come right here in my home state of Florida. Many times throughout my life I have enjoyed surfing the usually flat waters of the beaches of the Tampa Bay area and the Gulf of Mexico. Spots like Upham Beach have always been favorites when the surf is up and there are waves here either due to an offshore hurricane or other favorable conditions there is always something to do on the water in the Gulf of Mexico in and around the Tampa Bay area. Whether you are surfing when the opportunity allows or skimboarding the smooth waters of the Gulf when it is calm there are an abundance of watersports opportunities on the beaches of the St Petersburg Florida and Tampa FL area. There is also great surfing on the East coast of Florida. From Miami to Jacksonville the Atlantic always seems to offer some kind of waves. I have seen everything from 15 feet and glassy to 2-3 and choppy and all sizes and shapes in between when it comes to Florida's east coast and the surfing. Some of my personal favorite spots on Florida's east coast are Patrick Air Force Base (in the Cocoa Beach Florida area). As well as Sebastian Inlet also in the Cocoa and Melbourne area. I have always had great luck in the Jacksonville Florida area and the Atlantic Beach area. There are always some waves to be had at Atlantic Beach and the beaches north of there in Ponte' Vedra.
